The Twelve Trials Of Big Tom...

Yesterday was my birthday, and it went up there with one of the greats. Admittedly there were too many people, the Christmas Market was over saturated, and the Christmas Lights were already switched on, but when we went to the pub we could sit and catch up. There's still time for Massive Frankfurters, Admiring the Lights, and shopping in the Market, without the crowds and hordes of people there were last night.

And as it was a birthday, there were presents, and lots of those. Apparently today I receive my brother's and Saturday I get El's and Wodge and Owen's. Birthday's are fun. I got a percolator and some coffee from my parents, as well as a crocodile onesie, Iron Man 3 from my Sister, Arrow Series 1 from Clareg, a nice scarf and a notebook from Clareg's family, a hand crafted broadsword from HB, a notebook with one of the lines from Real Magic 2 from Tag, a companion cube of my companions from Red - plus spare instergerm pics for it, and a Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff t-shirt from Pill and DarkHorse which reads:
Working my Puff into Tuff
And I love them all, that you very muchly. I accidentally threw Red's present up in the air and it came apart. That was entirely my bad, and I think I really pissed Red off, so much so that drunk Red and I bickered like the married couple we will inevitably become about anything and everything, and she also made me realise I can't answer the question: 'what are you passionate about?' without some proper long thought...

But now it's a new year, and my 25th one at that. I've been thinking I require to do something more with my time, so I'm going to set myself 12 tasks for the 12 months between now and then. Some might be easier than others, but I hope I'll sort them all out. So without further introduction and in no particular order:
  1. Write the first story of Farcliff and Real Magic 2 and 3. (Tag's already helped there.)
  2. Cook/Bake something new once a week. (Pill will let me!)
  3. Explore somewhere new every month. (Anyone want to come? Doesn't have to be around Cardiff - roadtrip?)
  4. Finish Vin Diesel. (End Him!)
  5. Read the Lord of the Rings. (Pahahaha...oh, you were serious?)
  6. Read more in general.
  7. Travel to Places You Think About.
  8. Learn How to Draw again.
  9. Learn a new Language. (I was thinking French or Italian, though Welsh might be a good start.)
  10. Do something memorable. (Venice was a year ago, Uni was 2/3, we need new memories that we're all apart of.)
  11. Live Healthier.
  12. Enjoy Life, Yourself, and Your Friends.
As I said, some are easier than others. And I'm quite certain that half of them are naff and immeasurable. But I'll figure it out. I didn't want to put something like Skydiving on there because a. that's scary as shit and the thought of falling is making my palms sweat even now, but b. I wanted it to be something that we could all potentially do together at certain points. Without the risk of death. If we wanted.

It's going to be a good year already without me adding more things to it, so bring it on. I woke up to this today, Carpe diem guys! x

P.S. I'm passionate about my friends. Their quirks, thoughts, personalities. Their overall characters create my own, and their jokes, stories, and lives keep me going. I enjoy capturing their best and worst qualities in my writing and drawing, and I wouldn't change them for anything in the universe.

Just Breathe, That's The Key...

I think its fair to say that I shouldn't have written anything in the mood I was in yesterday, and I believe that it was almost wholly down to the nightmare that I had had. It was so strange and it brought me to tears, a grown man like me crying because of a bad dream, I know I'm a sap.

Though, thankfully, there are things in this world that reminded me to have a good day, Innocent Smoothies with Wooly Hats on for instance, and then realising that there are people in this world that put Wooly Hats on Innocent Smoothies.

Wodgey also talked me out of my mental state, which I'm always grateful for.

So, birthday plans. Pill tells me that everyone gets three days - or so he has calculated, though DarkHorse and HB both got a meal, and Tag got a sleepover and a trip to Alton Towers (it was a long way away I suppose). Therefore, apart from Thursday Night Lights, I've been thinking maybe a fancy meal or something Saturday Evening. What do peeps think?

It would appear I'm a bit rubbish at organising things for my own enjoyment. I've decided I'm going to force myself on Tag's hospitality Wednesday for some writing while he enjoys GTA 5 in his underwear. Perhaps I'll make him walk around the forest with me. We'll see what the weather does.

I think my mother is up to something. She keeps asking me when I'm off this week, during the week. So, maybe that's my third thing. She completely stole my 25th birthday's idea for my Father's 60th and my Italian Mother's 50th next year. Hobbit Dance in a Nature Reserve, Hog Roast and everything, and a 110 Guests to match their ages. She was drunk I suppose.

I've been thinking about Christmas a bit as well. And as it is the only guaranteed day off I will get I will not only spend it with you guys, but also with my other family. My mother has told me that she will drive me to yours after our Christmas Morning. And I hear you going, aww but you promised, in my head but you have to remember everyone's Christmas Mornings start differently.

Traditionally, mine begins at about 5am when my sister can't hold back her excitement and jumps up and down shaking the whole house screaming 'IT'S CHRISTMAS!' And then there'll be presents from Santa and then there's not a breakfast because Christmas Dinner is so filling. Therefore, I shall ask to be driven after Christmas Morning, and I shall hopefully arrive at about the time everyone wants to wake up 8/9am. Alas it means no me for Christmas Eve, but it's a compromise I've got to make.

We shall see how that goes down.

Today is a new start, Carpe diem...

Armistice...

Am I really that guy that just writes and writes to get inspiration that isn't around the corner, but will inevitably let you know that he's been writing because he has a blog? This, and many more questions, are still floating around my head after last night's drinking session.

But first let me tell you how I lured Red into having drinks with me on Friday night. Yes, it was entirely intentional, and yes, there was no other motive to the trap. Opting for the Bay rather than Friday Night Rugby Filled Centre (that sounds like a bad doughnut) we wondered in the rain to the Jenkins where a round of drinks was purchased and a chat was had about everything and anything and mostly about the loud mouth who sat behind us. Thankfully he left a short while after I had made it clear I disproved of his loudness. Either way, deciding we were hungry, we left the premises to discover the new Chippy down the Bay, and man were they good, and instead of staying in the warm and comfy booths (candle lit yo) we wondered out into the Bay and found the bench we had found ourselves on many Moons ago talking about anything and everything. We reminisced, watched some fireworks, and ate our chips before heading home.

Saturday Night was my Italian Mama's Birthday, at which I got very drunk from the Clarey Vintage (homemade wine) and listened about far too much family history, from where my Great Grandfather used to live in Cardiff, to bouts of depression throughout the family (the ups and the downs). And there I was also told to inform everyone that they were more than welcome at my Mothers (plural) homes for Christmas and that there was plenty of room and food for them all - I doubt that, but it would be a big family Christmas that hasn't ever happened before ever to my family. Either way, the plan offended a few and I'm just getting most fed up of this talk of Christmas and Birthdays, because I'm not going to make anyone happy what so ever. There's a likelihood that I will be working both Christmas Eve and Boxing Day so why am I going anywhere? As we all know the earliest I'll have to be in work on Boxing Day is 9am and the latest 9:30am.

And last night I must not have been in the right mindset or something because birthdays and Christmas and other such topics just didn't interest me. Too much playing on my mind already. Tag's denied his mother twice now for Christmas:
There's clearly no where else she would rather be, than with you her only son!
I had a weird dream last night too. It was a sort of Robocop meets Wizard of Oz meets Frankenstein thing. I think I must have been the patient, or having an out of body experience, when I see these other men with robotic limbs and stuff like that. One has a RoboBrain, another an Arm, and there was one with a Leg, and the nurses sat them down and detached them and removed my body parts to attach them to me. It was horrible, and they gave my parts to the RoboMen leaving me like a piece of scrap. I didn't appreciate it, and woke up very much tired, and in no mood to do anything.

I just need to empty my mind of worry, anger, and things that aren't or didn't happen. It's not a healthy way to be. I'll be pushing people away very soon (attention seeking as always).

I doubt there'll be a Carpe diem today...

Flu Dreams...

I think I've got a terrible case of Morning Flu...

Heavy eyes, blocked nose, headache, all the attractive features of death warmed up. But who cares? I've got another day of work ahead of me, and then another, and then I'm off. And in between each I believe I've got plans, how cool is that? I love it when a plan comes together...

So, I was talking to my Mother the other day and she was saying how we could go for a meal next Wednesday, and this got me thinking. Yes we could, ma Famille, and more of ma Famille. What say you? And yes, I am sort of inviting you to something that may or may not happen...

Let me know...

I've got a few grand ideas for my 25th though, and I'm going to put them here, because I'll have won the lottery by then and I'll be able to do all of the below...

I'm thinking either Coopers Field or Roald Dahl Plaza and a big Circus tent will be erected (giggity) there. And that's when all the chairs and table will be placed, and all the food will be put on those tables. There'll be a hog roast with buns and crackling, and there's going to be casks of beer and ale and crates of wine. There'll be lanterns and the trees, or the Torchwood Hub, will be decorated in lights as well, and when the band begins to play all the guests will arrive and be all Hobbity - oh yes, Hobbit Barn Dance Mark-II. Now that's a dream party I think, if a little geeky and somewhat out of the box or not, how many people do this sort of thing?

Of course, money is the helper here.

But all that talk of Hobbits, really makes me want to watch the Lord of the Rings. Everyone keeps mentioning it, but when's it going to happen?! God Damn! (summer in the city - its like verbal masturbation saying it to myself)...

My brother said the best thing to me last night, and it's probably not going to be the same if I tell you now, but let me try...
Mum asked me why I wasn't going to buy you a card, and I said, well Mum, its because your generation messed up the economy so much that my generation doesn't feel the need to buy a piece of paper that will only end up in the bin.
Very wise words from the quick witted giant I think...

Anywho, I've rambled on far too long with this headache I think, Carpe diem to the pain meds!...

The Three-Day Weekend...

Well that was a busy old three-day weekend. What's that? You didn't know I had a three-day weekend? Well sit up straight while I tell you mostly about it...

I've just discovered why they don't let you walk around with drinks in libraries and book shops. I just dropped my cup of coffee on my copy of The Game of Thrones. PLEASE DRY OUT OKAY GOD OF BOOK DRYING!

Friday, the first day, I spent mostly at home, cleaning, shopping. I went to the post depo to pick up Red's parcel, and that was about it, until the evening, when I donned my Angry Bird Hat (so warm), and ventured to the Big End for Lady Kate's Halloween Party. There was so much food, and it was good to catch up with the home friends for a short while. Lady Kate is an actual feeder, i.e. when I wasn't eating something she physically rapped my face with food. There's an image for you. I was quite shattered as well and I took a couple of short naps in the dark living room with a CD that kept playing Women's Screams every 5mins. Either way, it was soon time to go home and I stayed at Mom and Dad's.

The next morning I was up early, apparently - although I wouldn't say 8am was early anymore. Despite going to bed at 1am. I went food shopping with Mum, and she bought me and Pill some things as she thinks we're still students and require that extra food. Then we woke up Ben and went suit shopping, to which I spent "£*£$)O*U and the tailor himself congratulated me on my weight loss, but sided with my Mother when we said that my former suit was too larger because of it. I'm so inconsiderate. I met HB after her work, and we went, into the storm along the train tracks, picking Cherry up on the way and homeward again, where everyone was gathering.

Nearly an hour and a bit later, we were all looking Sexy as Fuck and hit Cardiff Bridge with the rest of Cardiff to witness the Fireworks in the Park, to which we all huddled and sheltered ourselves from the cold, wind, and rain, until it got a bit much. Then town beckoned. We bumped into Smeccles in Le Lake Poob and Red was somewhat abducted by a slimy individual and then we had to disperse. The night was not yet morning when half the group decided that they couldn't walk any more, and the other half, spurred on my Tag went to Revs, but upstairs Revs. It was weird, creepy, and Cherry had a freak-out. Alcohol, oy-vey. I was concerned that we had lost Red at one point, and I sent Cherry after her. Soz guys, my bad. And then Midnight dawned and the tiara was placed upon the head. It's Red's Birthday (YAY!). Cherry got Sambucca (everytime?!), and Red and I slow danced to Nicki Minaj, or so I'm told.

We soon left as the club got a bit pushy, and realised we could have been downstairs most of the time. Chili Shots yo! I carried Red to mine, and we all slept, more or less, well. Until the morning, and Tag's Mango Chundering. Which then Tag, Red, and I went for a walk around Bute Park before Breakfast, and he painted the Park a bit. Presents were opening in my Bedroom, Breakfast in Spoons, before a lazy day of cleaning, and gaming, and then Pizza Express for Red's Birthday Meal.

I had a lovely time, all things considered. Happy Birthday Red...

Nov Eb Ner...

I just bought some music I've been planning on buying for a while, namely some Imagine Dragons and the rest of Frank's Album, that I neglected to believe existed. But then I saw a category called TV Music, and found the Advert Music section, so I now have things like Icona Pop 'I Love It' and Masters in France 'Playin with My Friends'...

Happy PayDay morning to me.

It's almost time for a day off, just 2 days to go, and the dawning of a month I know oh so well. November holds, for me, a lot of happiness and other life events. I've always had a birthday in it, and despite my complete lack of birthdayness, I don't think I've ever been disappointed with a birthday (okay, maybe the 18th, but the 19th, 20th, and 21st, were epic.) But soon I'll be 24. Just a number at the end of the day, and no time what so ever in the actual span of life that I plan on receiving (perhaps I'm tempting fate), though, I know now that all the people I know, and enjoy my time with, I want with me, throughout. No matter what.

And I don't think I will be doing Movember.

Things with Pill and I are going okay. We know we're not going to be living together forever, and now we're actually talking about getting a temporary flat, large enough, and without damp, for me, he, and DarkHorse to reside in quite comfortably. And in town of course.

I completed my Birthmas List for Mother the other week, and sent it in a nice note/letter/email which sort of went like this:
Hello Santa-Mother, this year I would very much like to be healthy, wealthy, and wonderfully stealthy: however, in the unlikelihood of you being able to provide any of that, I would like any number of the following things:
- All the stuff I wanted...
And I believe that's it for now. I know you have your own ideas Santa-Mother, and I'll be grateful to see those as well. Hope you are well, enjoy the North Pole.
Thomas Edward Ajax-Lewis,
The house without a fireplace,
Cardiff.
And gladly, as my mother is my mother, she played along in the response, which went like this:
Thank you little boy for your email to Santa, we shall see what we can do this end. Do not worry that you have no fireplace because Santa Mother is very stealthy and will find a way to deliver your presents as long as you have been a good little boy!
Love
Santa’s helper. xx
So yes, things seem to be okay this week. Though life does like to change. Partying and Fireworks on the Weekend for Red's Birthday, and I'm gonna have to walk to the post depo on Friday to collect what I assume are her presents. If they're not, I don't know what else it could be...

Carpe diem you brilliant people!...

Day 9 Of 11...

There's nothing quite like the tiredness you get from 11 Days of working, in my opinion (with the exception and foreknowledge that I haven't ever done anything Wodge is currently going through, and I know we've all got our bad experiences, so ignore me if you will)...

To be fair, I'm almost to the end. Today will be day 9, and it's not a real full time 11 Days, but it has certainly given me the inability to not switch off, so I wake up tired, gain a tremendous sense of deja vu every walk into town, start work, clean up, repeat.

I don't have a good firm grip of the English language, I've decided. It's more a soft glace in English's direction when ever I open my mouth. I don't know why, but my brain does like to try and over complicate things, a. in life, and b. in the way that I talk.

Like I was telling Cherry last week, and more for the most part, if you know me, I sound far better in text format than I think I ever will verbally. I've been through a few speech therapies in my life, mostly to remove a stutter and restore some self confidence. It's an odd thing to try and explain, but going from crippling public speaking problems to the job I have now has certainly been quite an existence.

So just try to understand me if I get my words around the wrong way, or I'm trying to explain something but I'm going the wrong way around it. Some of you already do that, I know. You can understand the nonsense that I drivel sometimes, and for the rest of you, you'll get used to it, and perhaps one day you'll also hear me sneeze. But not too soon, we require some mystery I think.

It's Red's birthday on the weekend and the order to dress up 'Sexy as Fuck' is certainly one I hope to adhere to. And although I shall endevour to accomplish my goal, I shall possibly fall short if everything doesn't arrive before Saturday. We're hitting the town, and before we do there's gonna be fireworks outside the house and down the street. I think a group on Cardiff Bridge watching fireworks from Bute Park would be epic. But I might be wrong. The fires start at 7pm. They're the big people ones. I'm not sure why there are kid ones and adult ones, and the concept even sounds amusing. Perhaps they'll set the car alarms off again they were so big/loud. Apparently it'll be the biggest display in Wales and one of the largest in the UK. I suppose we'll have to see it to believe it...

Have a tremendous day, and I look forward to seeing us all again, Carpe diem...

The Birthmas List

The Birthmas List, a very powerful tool in the life and year of Big Tom. It is not only a free pass to all my wants and desires, it is also a way of achieving them all (within reason)...

The only problem being, I never want for much. I've always been like that though - I always go, I could use a new camera, though saying that I don't really need one, my old camera works perfectly fine. Or, I could want this video game right here, but then I do have a few video games to complete first...

And this wanting has only gotten worse as the years have gone on, and especially when I've gone and got myself a Full-Time job. Nothing seems out of reach, as it were. So, what the devil do I want for my Birthmas list?

Ah yes, it's the added difficulty of having to write two lists at once. I realised at a very young age that Santa delivered both my Birthday and Christmas presents, so I thought it was easier to just write him the one letter. That, and I was told to write just the one, one year (somewhat destroying the illusion). I suppose that's the difficulty with having a birthday so close to Christmas (not as close as some though). My mother has already bought me something I don't think I asked for. Perhaps it'll be my Christmas Jumper! Though saying that she said it was a Birthday Present, hmm...

Either way, I suppose I'll go check out my Amazon Wishlist and see what it says. It contains lots of books I don't think I'll get round to reading, games for a console that doesn't exist yet, and DVDs I seem to be acquiring via digital media at the moment anyway. It's a tricky one.

Maybe I'll go out today and browse for ideas.

Pill, DarkHorse, and I watched Sorcerer's Apprentice last night (before I watched Bake Off alone) and that was a good movie - though I think I may have seen it before. However, the song in it was quite good:

I think I probably just like the Cello bit and the dramatic and epic chorus...

Have a very fine day...

T-Minus 1 Day More!...

By this time tomorrow, we will either be almost there, or actually there. And I don't know if I want to do a day's work knowing that...

But where? I hear you ask dear read. Well, to Alton-freaking-Towers of course! It's Tag's birthday, and Red and I have to wake him up like they do in those Disney land commercials:

Okay, I'm being silly now but it's going to be awesomely cool. When we doing presents? I wrapped mine last night. I showed Red the damage, she laughed. Roadtrip, and music, and so many quote, references, vomit, food, more vomit, fast rides, excitement, good weather (possibly), water rides first (I'm Soaked!), then second roadtrip where we all fall asleep like they do at the end of movies (except the driver, obvs)...

Although, energy drinks, coffee, and amphetamines will be shooting through our veins so perhaps not...orgy?

We're going to do Alton Towers right, apparently we've got to go on Air, Hex, and the new one The Smiler (16 consecutive loops or something, first in the world). I'm not a rollercoaster person, and neither are a few of the other people going. It's going to be odd.

Pedalows anyone?

I can imagine Pill and Ducky making their way through all the Food and Drinking places in the park. HB and DarkHorse might go check out the House and Grounds, Cherry will sit anywhere with a good book and look after the bags like a good mum, Red will go on all the Tea Cups and Pedalows with me, possibly a few carny stands too, and I will go on all the big rides with Tag (alphamale style)...

That paragraph isn't how things'll go, I swear.

I'm starting to be concerned that Comic-Con won't be all that, but I'm looking forward to seeing us all in costume and having photos. Hot'n'Sexy Fotos just one pic 99p. O-la-la...

Where was that going?!

In other news, work are sending me to Cambridge at the end of September to learn about Helicopters. I didn't know I needed to know more, but there you go. I'm getting nervous again, how the fuck do I get to Cambridge?!

But I'm sure I'll worry more about that when I know more about that.

So, flavoured water, money for pizza, crisps and no dips for car journey (multi-pack), probably a sleeping bag required. If Christmas happens these'll be the sleeping arrangements too I imagine...

I want to continue writing, but I don't know what to say. I've been writing song lyrics recently, nothing I'm going to share with you - mainly because they're crap - and my real-world fiction, I had hoped to finish it before tomorrow, but that's not going to happen is it? So, Friday perhaps...

Either way, I'll post it up here, and then all we've got to wait for is Tag's RomCom...

Have a good couple of days, I know we will...

Concerning BBQs...

I really get the urge to kick children sometimes. You know when they're being annoying, self-centred swine? When they cry, and beg, and actually steal shit. Yep, then I just want to pick them up by their soft, squidgy heads, and drop kick them into next week. Does anyone else get that? Or is it just me?...

Also, another thought passed me the other day, as two mobility scooters sped passed me, can I shout 'LYMPICS' at them as well? I know their not being healthy because let's face it, they're sat down, but you know, I just get the urge...

Okay, I'm starting to sound a little cray-cray, but who cares, I'm not harming anyone, or planning to. And also, half the things I say, are just my mouth taking over from my head. Which is why when I sometimes say 'Have a Nice Day' in my head, it comes out as 'Have a Nice GAH!_sd@!S"H'. My mouth syntax-error's my mind, and half the things I say, I know I should have stopped speaking or I didn't intend to say anything in the first place. I'm quite good on a one-to-one basis, but it just frustrates me sometimes. I suppose it reminds me of my stutter and pronunciation problems (Azerbaijan)...

Where am I going with this? Ah yes, concerning BBQs.

BBQs are strange and fantastical things, where you sit out in the outside, whatever the weather and do as you would normally do, except the cooking is done beside you, you're allowed to drink anything you like no matter the time of day and as long as it has ice in, and barefoot is okay attire. Could you imagine a BBQ in suits and dinner dresses?

It wasn't as warm as I had hoped, walking back from my daily commitments, but it was warm enough. I had found loads of food, and carried it home. Pill had sorted the BBQ stuff, cleaned it out and prepared, which was nice. And we waited for the others. He lit the fire, shortly after 7:30, and I got a text from Tag about 10mins after that saying that he had missed the train due to an Asian. We cooked on without them, and when they arrived the food was ready. Which is a nice change.

We sat and chatted, and laughed, and discussed our days, and it was nice. The usual, but the usual is usually nice. Red had been #sploring, Tag had been selling, and Pill had been passing on our country's secrets again. Food was pleasant, and quite cheap for the quality of the items (I collect the coupons), and I think a nice time was had. It is a pity that my garden has no grass, and it isn't very big either. And that makes me very jealous Cherry and Tag, very jealous indeed.

Red exclaimed that she was bored and that they should go, and go they went. It was late, about 11pm (late in this instance meaning that we had work in the morning and we don't intend on sleeping here).

We've got at least 3-4 days of activities to achieve as of Sunday, and it goes a little like this - Food Festival, IKEA, Birthday, Cinema (though I'm assuming cinema is a maybe). Perhaps we could holiday somewhere, Cornwall, Wodge Visiting, Castle Hide-n-Seek, St Fagans, #sploring? Who knows what we'll get up to, fingers crossed we wont end up at the Western or Nandos.

Carpe diem...

Resentment On Gower...

Yesterday was my Mother's birthday, and as such, I traveled to Big End to wish her a lovely birthday. And then we went to Gower...

I'm not sure what my siblings bought her for a present, but I did see my brother's card. My brother hates being forced to do anything, very much like the rest of us (and we were already miserable being made to go to the beach), but when it comes to birthday cards that takes the biscuit in his book. He, like me, sees the birthday card as a useless item and thus we hardly ever buy them. This year he bought a 'Happy Birthday Son' card and scribbled out the word Son, and replaced it with the word Mum (subtle). The yellow sports card on the front of the card (a Lamborghini Aventador J), didn't influence his decision in card at all, because when Mum confronted him about it, he simply said 'cheapest'.

Dad drove, as he had a plan, and drive he did, an hour and a half into the Gower Peninsula, looking very pretty and Middle Earthian. I even got to see Bury Port from the other side of the estuary. And I thought that was quite cool.

We arrived at the King Arthur Hotel and set about sitting outside and eating lunch. I helplessly flirted with the staff (cooey!) and we moved on further into the Gower. I should add that the burger I had was massive, and the chips were quite nice. And there we were on the edge of the land. Mum fell down a hole, the drunk, and we all fell about laughing. And when we reached the beach she set about ordering us to sunbathe. My response being to point at a ruin I could see in the distance, and then a marker rock I saw on top of the cliffs. 'I'll be over there if you need me.'

Ben came with me and we discussed manly things like Lego Lord of the Rings, and other video games and computer schematics. It was a nice walk, but it only took and hour, and I didn't take enough photos. I dangled off cliff edges, looked out to see, and even tried to find a hole in the wall (Good Luck with that). We had Milkshakes and went back. I requested to be dropped at the station, you know that feeling you get of restlessness when you just want to be doing something else, somewhere else, with someone else? Well that came about and I returned home.

Pill was there and informed me he was out for the evening visiting his brother, so I set about watering the garden, and watching all the catch-up telly, before deciding to go shopping for BBQ food. And let's face it BBQ food, plus this weather, sprinkled with friends, after daily commitments, equals a good time.

Today I'm talking to 60 kids or so about flying toys. I don't know what I'm going to say, but apparently they've got questions or something. I think I'm gonna need that BBQ.

I hate the beach...

Lympic Sun, Biches!...

It's now Tuesday, my day off, the day I was meant to be doing very little, the day I was perhapsly going to view Fast 5 and 6 consecutively after I had helped Tag in the garden. But no, today is Tuesday, 9th July and it's Mum's Birthday...

I sent the majority of the weekend, away from home, at either Ponty or the Big End, so it was a bit of a relief to sleep in my own bed last night. After my Sunday Commitments (not religion), I dashed to the meeting place, after being bombarded in the Office with the rest of the work crew, watching the Wimbledon Final. That was fun, air conditioning and tennis. However, I was late, and the iPlayer was delayed.

Either way, I met with Tag, Cherry, and Red, and we ventured to their homestead and lounged in the garden listening to countless good songs, and drank a little. Cherry slaved over the cooker to make us a fine meal of Bolognese, and we ate in relative silence (and that's a sign of good food). Top Gear was cancelled or something, and replaced in favour of Wimbledon Doubles, something not many people watch. But the hour later involved the Returned. That show be good. The room we sat in got really really hot, and I slept there. The next day I returned (see what I did there?) to my daily commitments, and upon returning home,  I got to see Pill for the first time in a week or so, and his magicing friends from Big End. I was really concerned that I might know the pair, as I was a part of the Big End nerd community for a while. Thankfully, I didn't know them, and set about making myself scarce, weeding, watering, and cooking (in that order).

They finished eventually and I got Pill to sign Red's passport documents (we going somewhere soon biches!) and he went to bed. I did a few more chores, and here I am. It's 9:30am or so here, sat on the parental sofa, in a warm house, waiting to go to the Gower for the day. I hate beaches, but it's Mum's Birthday.

My Father just walked into the room and looked at me, I said 'Hi' and he said (entirely to himself, but audible) 'Good, that sorts that one out, I need to put some shorts on and water, a little.' I should add, he was completely clothed.

I don't like getting treated like a child, and apparently this house is a house of resentment. My brother and sister are already bickering, my father is quietly sat at his computer, and mum just asked when we were going anywhere. I thought this was your idea? I was just expecting to take her to lunch at Jamie's or something, like she suggested I do on Saturday when I was here last.

I've got a busy week coming up, and I don't think I'll see Pill very much again. He goes to Plymy on the weekend for a week. And Wednesday we've got Date Night (every Wednesday and Sunday?), Thursday Clareg's trying to arrange drinks with an old friend of ours The Bennett (he's far too handsome, successful, and bonkers for you guys to meet him, I'd get jealous), Friday I'm away to Slen's for a quiz, you should see my topic - it's a good one, and Sunday my Aunt and Uncle are in town. When will I get to see that Food and Drink Festival down the Bay?! Saturday perhaps? What say you guys?

I hate the beach. I much prefer Bute Park.

A Cup of Tea And A Slice Of Skyrim...

Well I say a slice of Skyrim, and I say a cup of tea, what I really mean is a damn sight more than a slice of the almighty legendary godly game that is Skyrim and a teeny bit more than just one cup of tea.

So, probably thirty-five teas, seventy-two coffee's, and nearly a full twenty hours sent playing Skyrim later I have returned to you my fellow following loyalists. Or should that read loyal fellow followers? Anywho, I've been well, though I think I'm now coming down with some wintery bug or another, which sucks tremendously.

The job search continues, I waited nearly a month to hear from just about anyone since my first CV-spree, and yet again I found myself doing it again today, and yet again I found nothing - well I say nothing. Comet on the other side of Bridgend (yes I walked all that way) took a CV off me - so I call that a 100% improvement from a month ago - they didn't take any last time, and now I shifted one! Yay me!

I know what you're thinking, is that sarcasm or is that actual excitement? Well, in truth, it's a bit of both. Sure I feel that, due to my graduate status (though that's not enough to get a graduate job, no I needed a 2.1 for that), I feel that I'm too good for a job as a Warehouse Associate, though the other part of me is saying, just grin and bare it, it's money, and no one truly dreams of a career in a Comet store. Do they? Either way, they took my CV, and I'm grateful. Next steps, actual Career moves - watch this space for more! (now don't I sound cool?)

So after that completely demoralising day-out and generally poor week (if you don't include Monday and Tuesday which were completely awesome - and I should probably tell you about them), I'm quite tired - but a tired man's work is never done. I have been trying to do NaNoWriMo - as you know - and I haven't really done any this week so I plan on doing a Write-A-Thon type thing to catch up soon. At the moment my total stands at 13,625 words, were my estimated total by today should be closer to 36,000 words. Okay, so I've got a lot of catching up to do, but I think the story's going to be quite good, even if the English and grammar isn't. And in saying that I'm sure you won't ever read it because, as I've described it before, it's a sort of fan-fiction of my own life. Sad isn't it? I'm my own fan. But then if others aren't who else are you going to turn to?

Anyway, NaNoWriMo-fails behind, Monday and Tuesday were the days of this week that I set aside for my Birthday, so presents, meals, more meals, gaming, presents, movies, meal, and more presents again. Which was absolutely brilliant, and what was even better was reliving my student days with a Midnight trip to Tesco with the lovely HB Sauce - cold coffee and talking, what better way to end a brilliant celebration of my getting older. I'm 22 now - look, look! I caught up!

BTW HB, I haven't had time to use my completely superb present yet, but Saturday comes, and cereal needs to be eaten! (Pictures to follow).

I think that's it for now. Until the next time I moan, let's see what I can do. Perhaps get some work experience in a newspaper or a publishing house - ah one can dream.

P.S. Truth, from now until my next blog I will answer any question you have for me completely truthfully - so give me your best shot.

P.S.S. Movember Update: as some of you have already seen, my Mo is a bit pathetic, but the only thing stopping me getting rid is the knowledge that you guys are sponsoring me. And if you haven't - it's for a good cause, so just click here and donate now!

The 92nd Amendment...

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...

So it's been a while yet again. And I don't think I have an excuse this time. Not one excuse, which isn't like me.

I've recently discovered Coffee, which is either a good thing or a bad thing. I think I had a withdrawal thing this morning, to which I drank and the pain went away. I could be addicted. Hmm...

Anyway, this was only ever going to be a quick hello and a tell you how I'm getting on. I'm writing a NaNoWriMo entry this year, and I'm already 15,000 words behind where I want to be on the 9th November, but that's like a day's work, right?

I'm also growing my mustache for Movember. I know, I know, stop laughing - I probably won't end up like this:

But here's a video explaining everything about Movember:

And here's my progress video:

So please Sponsor My Mo here. I think that's about it. I'll try to update more and more as the year dies. It's my birthday next week, and I don't know what I'm doing for it just yet, perhaps I should figure that one out now.

The Rain In Spain...

I know, I know, I've been neglecting you again. I suppose there's no real excuse this time except to say that I'm distracted, though I might tell you about that later...

How're you? I trust you're well.

Things in my world are a little topsy turvy at the moment, well they may seem normal to you but its just feeling very weird and unstable to me. Things move fast and slow all at once, and nothing seems to be happening to me. Life just continues, and at the moment I'm an observer, I've been knocked off the path my some inconsiderate driver and I'm waiting for the Roadside Saviour to come along and help me.

Okay enough of the analogies, if anyone's going to help me, then it's going to be me more than anyone else. 'Always look out for Number One' my Mother says. It just seems too cut-throat and cruel to be true - but then I here about murders and suicides and fires on the news every evening and realise that this world really isn't as nice as I like to think it is.

But saying that, I'm no pushover myself. Or I like to think so, if you have anything to say on the matter then by all means leave a comment down below - I'd love to know what you think.

Last week was a busy time, a surprise birthday rendezvous for HB Sauce's birthday went off quite well I think - many incidents occurred and I hope HB enjoyed herself - after all that's all that matters, it was her birthday after all. People still call me a 'mug' (Hi Master) and I suppose I am, but it was a nice trip out either way - or at least I thought so anyway.

Driving is going well. I'm not quite the King of the Road just yet, but I think I can competently drive from my house to Wildmill and back without much problem (which is where I am in my learning by the way). I do need to brush up on my Highway Code though.

I've applied for a job at a well known superstore, thanks to HB's Aunt and Cousin who offered to get me a form and take it in for me. It might be an odd thing to you (I know what you're thinking) but I appreciated it all the same.

And it would seem, why all this was happening, and while Wales missed out on the Rugby World Cup Final, I found myself distracted, in the middle of it all just looking in, feeling lost, unwanted, and lonely. I don't know why - it's just this odd feeling I get every now and then. It's really quite stupid, but when I go a couple of days without seeing anyone except my family I feel that everyone else has gone away and they'll forget about me. And as I write this I realise that I have some similarities to the Dog herself (Yes Poppy, I mean you, stop tilting your head as if you know what I'm on about).

So this rut I'm stuck in better get out of my way, because I plan on powering through. And this self-therapy is definitely going to get me there.

Oooh, I just realised that my 100th Blog is coming up and I think I should do something special to mark my first century of blogs. Any suggestions?

You Know When...

Well I'm about to play Saint's Row 1...

I'm going to Dark Horse's Birthday Party this afternoon/evening/tomorrow morning/day...

And most importantly, monday, tuesday, and wednesday were terribly productive. Not at all for my career but for my housework load, my gardening, and my social life.

Monday: HB and I went shopping in Cardiff, we had Sushi, I spent lots of money. I hope a great time was had by all, especially me. Is that creepy when I say things like that? Anyway...

Tuesday: Everyone, well nearly everyone, piled into HB's house to shelter from the Riots that have been occurring throughout the country this week, so we could play DADAD, or for those of you who don't know Dragon Age Dungeons And Dragons. Sad I know, but we were bored, we made it up, and we have fun playing it.

Wednesday: I was roped into cutting down some trees, and hedges in our back garden, and you know what, it has left me drained pretty much for the rest of the week. Which is why I have managed to collect so many things for the Legend of the West costume on Red Dead Redemption. I have it now, and I look pretty all the time!

And for those of you who don't know. Last weekend the Carmarthen Zombie Apocalypse website went live, and you can now find out more and buy tickets for the event here.

Carpe diem, until next time bloggers...

P.S. Next Week I shall begin my new regime, early starts, exercise, writing, the whole shebang, or I will get tired by Wednesday. Who knows.
