Impressionable Impressions...

Have you ever left a cinema feeling like you could conquer the world using your force/magic/super powers?

I have.

It takes me back to pretending on long summer days, whether it was raining or not. Being a Jedi, being an Orc Slayer, being a Pokemon Trainer - there's been plenty of roles I've played.

Nowadays movies tend to inspire me, mainly inspire me to write - which for the kind of movies I like to watch, they tend to inspire me to write fantasy (believe it or not).

But this evening I saw a brilliant film the BAFTA and Oscar nominated The Social Network. That inspired me to write for business or got me thinking about writing as a business. Which is something I don't really want to do, because as a friend said recently when you start writing for money that's when you lose touch with your writing (okay I'm paraphrasing - Hi Niti!).

So now I've written an article on a whim and I don't even know if its any good, or, for that matter, publishable. But then saying that I don't really care. Its written, I've written, and I'm glad.

But that's me, until next time bloggers...

The Poor Student...

Believe it or not, I'm now fed up of having no money...

So - solution!!

As I don't think getting a job for the next few weeks while I'm in Carmarthen before I leave to live at home for two-months before I leave there to live in Swansea I think I'm going to try and enter a few competitions or get a writing job. Ultimately this is where I would have wanted to end up sooner rather than later but okay.

Idea!!

So if I write absolutely bloody loads. Edit it, make it all good, and send it away to the competitions - free ones of course, I can't afford it otherwise - then I should start getting some money in hopefully. What does everyone think?

Also does anyone have any competitions they've seen that I can enter?

I know of one, which I have to pay for, but I'm willing to pay for it due to the circumstances involved in the competition.

Anywho - it's just an idea - I've got to crack on with my Creative Project, my Conference Paper, and my Ffrinj Entry if I'm going to do any competition writing soon.

But that's me, until next time bloggers...

P.S. Those of you who don't blog enough have this as an incentive - Out of all the Fictional Characters in the world which ONE would you want to spend a single Afternoon with?

Woolworths - The Gift of Choice...

Well 'Hello - how are you?' It's been a bloody long while I must admit.

Since my summary of the year I haven't actually been up to much - which I should have. I dislike moving about at Christmas - it seems to disrupt my apparently delicate systems whereby I cannot seem to function for a long while in a new or uncommon area. It's really quite odd.

So, moving on, as mentioned I've been disrupted - and as such I've not written a thing. And by a thing I mean a thing - nothing has been created on paper - though that's not saying I've not been thinking about such things. But I'm sure that these things will be spoken of very shortly.

I have gained a keen taste for tea, Lemon Tea in particular, but that's not to say I did not enjoy a cup of PG Tips with breakfast the other morning. I do believe I'm maturing like wine or cheese - hopefully without the smell. Along with this maturing I've adopted Newspaper buying and reading as well.

My marks are getting progressively better, as my Creative Writing - as always - is the best thing I can do. My academic work is unfortunately poor dragging down my Creative marks - but this last semester, and yes it is the last unfortunately, is perhaps going to be one of the best.

And as I mention my maturing - my Comic Book collection seems to be growing - explain that one.

That's me, until next time bloggers...
