Quiet Day It Is Then...

In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die. And where you invest your love, you invest your life...

A very nice lyric that just floated over my iPod speakers and into my ears. It made me smile and feel good about myself. It's both a very depressing indie statement that I like all too much because it's attached to an upbeat melody, but it's also a very sweet confession of love and life and everything in between.

Let's face it, its raining outside, and my friends all have work, what else am I going to do, but consult the musical realms and sit here and write - well I suppose I might make a breakfast in a bit, and watch Avengers/Les Mis...

Don't you find that forcing yourself to have a lie-in is one of the most painful ways of sleeping?

I'm hoping to finish Bute Wall (But-e-wall) later so you all might have little messages to my other blog (the writing one) where I keep my secrets. Or I might just email you all the body of text that I'm forming, I haven't figured it out yet.

Who knows, I might even do some Writing People stuff later (eek-eth, could you imagine?). Though saying that, something needs to be done about that. Perhaps in the coming months we'll figure it out again.

I don't have very much to say today, perhaps I will later, or tomorrow, but what're you going to do? It's my day off, it's Pay Day, it's raining, and no one's around.

Quiet day it is then...

I'm Soaked!...

Well it was my turn to host, and BOOM! nothing much happened with it. I really haven't found out what my flat is good for, except for Pill and I to be living in. Either way, it's not watching movies, rainy days in, or video games with friends...

The next place I move in to will accommodate all those things plus the ones we have now and more...

Anyway, I waited for the Gas Man too long and finally text him at 10:30, to see at which point of the morning he'd arrive. Turns out he was running a bit late so it would be 12pm. I dashed out of the house and shopped, and got a haircut (thank fuck for that - as nice as big hair can look - mine was just turning into something I'm never fond of)...

I returned home in time for the Gas Man and then for Tag, Cherry, and Red, for we had decided that something had to happen due to us all being off. I think we should have tried the museum. But nothing solid was planned and we forced ourselves into it. We started watching Video Game Trailers and then we moved on to YouTube Videos and watched the entirety of Stropey plays Slender the Arrival. Tag then attempted to play both Slender and Slender the Arrival (downloads y'all), and then we went for a walk...

It was a bit dry, I thought the rain had passed and I didn't bother taking a jacket - the outcome was both wonderful, fun, and dampening. Getting caught in the rain, seeing Slendermen everywhere, all the signs are warnings, and then hiding under a tree for cover before talking about getting soaked and touching each other.

Our time at the park was fun, I should have brought Simba with me. He's not seen outside in months. When we got in Tag set about going through movies we had to watch (democratically) and waited for someone to say yay or nay to any or all of them. While he did that, I cooked the pizza and chicken wings I purchased earlier. They weren't good either. God damn-it flat! And we watched Evolution before Red exclaimed that she was going home.

Hopefully Sunday will be better due to planning and expectations, and then Wednesday/Thursday after that...

I cleaned and ironed for the rest of the evening, allowing time for another movie from my childhood - Hoodwinked - and then I went to bed. My brother thinks I should have gone for Mask of Zorro. Once in bed, I heard the door open and I ran to confront the axe murderer lurking behind my door only to find a Pill, wet, cold, and returned home after his week, before disappearing off to the west again in the morning. We chatted a bit, and I returned to bed.

I am now quite tired, despite the long sleep, and I've got five days of commitments ahead of me. Bring it on!

What are we watching Sunday? This week I'm thinking wine - unless it's warm obvs...

Rainy Day In...

Yesterday, I had a day off. And that actually meant, for the first time in a long time, that I had no plans with which to do with my day, and that it was raining and miserable the washing didn't dry...

But what did you get up to? I hear your proclaim at the top of your voices, as there is nothing more important to read on the internets than this very segment of my life. Well, in truth, and if you know me well enough, I can't be sitting around all day watching TV or Films - well not by myself at any rate. If I had company it would have been quite different.

I woke up, and watched the remainder of a Top Gear episode I had switched off the night before to go to bed. Then I made coffee, set up the washing to dry inside, hoovered (not well), and eventually I left the house in pursuit of some shopping.

I bought the River Island bag (Pill is convinced its a Handbag), and then I went to the market. I bought a loaf of bread, some eggs, sausages, beef mince, potatoes, mushrooms, carrots, and a sandwich for under £15. And upon returning home I tucked into said sandwich and rummaged about on my laptop in front of the TV.

I had hoped to watch Kingdom of Heaven, because I saw that it was on Netflix, but alas it must have been Tag's American Netflix (God Damn...summer in the city). Instead I watched 21 (a film about Blackjack. It was okay, but it spoon-fed you like Now You See Me), and then I watched a bit of Krod Mandoon (do you remember that crappy Fantasy proof on BBC2?).

I also managed to buy the remaining clothes for my comic-con costume. All I need now is a few maps, and some shoes to go with it. Though Red had suggested broaches or something. I don't know. This is the most I've ever done for fancy dress, and it's actually starting to be enjoyable now that I'm getting to a size where certain sizes fit.

So, all in all I managed to spend money and sit in front of the TV for a while. I tinkered about on my Laptop for a bit as well. Clareg wants me to download Lord of the Rings Online (I know I had it once, but that was a long time ago), and I downloaded Age of Empires Online and Civ 3. AOE wouldn't let me log in (I'll try that again later), and Civ 3 wasn't what I remembered it was, i.e. it's no Age of Whatever You Played...

A pretty staggeringly poor day, by all measures. And then Cherry text. Sherlock are in town! And I stood outside the film set, on the Hayes for a short while, telling Cherry everything I saw every now and then, and I would have some pictorial evidence although crappy HTC failed me. But I did see Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

A not bad end to the day indeed. Pill and I watch Atlantis, and watching Disney films with him is fun, because if he hasn't seen them before, he will analyse it and throw science at it. My simple response, it's a cartoon.

I suddenly got an urge to go to Oxford. I'm not sure why. More on that story as it develops.

That There's A Belly Button...

That title could be a little insensitive to a certain redheaded individual, but roll with it, it's relevant, sort of...

After my daily deeds on Wednesday I started the arduous trek to the Bay. The walk wasn't strenuous, and the weather wasn't too bad, the only real arduous part was when my iPod decided to pause every now and then for fun it seemed. Needless to say, it annoyed me. But then I received a phone call from Red, and I called her back, but I couldn't get through, so instead I called Tag:

'WE'RE COMING TO GET YOU BARBARA!'

So, I waited on the side of the empty road and flagged them down, like a NYC cab, and we sped off in the other direction, breaking the law a bit, but nonetheless going the way we wanted. Our destination, and the place we spend most Wednesday evenings (due to my late working times), the Cinema. Our movie, Hangover Part III. Or as the ticket called it Hngvr Prt III which is pronounced as Hung-ver-pErt-ee! (I googled it).

I enjoyed the movie very muchly. As action packed an fun as most action movies tend to be, but it wasn't a Hangover Movie, there wasn't even a Hangover in it! Well, not until the credits of course, but they still lost Doug (I have boobies now!).

We vacated the cinema after the credits, as is our way nowadays (damn you Marvel), and ventured into the smelly air. It does always smell like wet socks down there. We ordered Chicken House (traditions be a mounting I think), and probably stumbled on some doggers on the walk back.

The next day just so happened to be my first day of Holiday (and I think it's more than 10-days now, eek!) so I set about things to do, item first being a haircut. I know I paid, and I physically saw the lady chop parts of my hair out, but it doesn't feel like I've had a haircut. Oh well, maybe next payday. I visited Tag in work, they were talking to a famous so I thought I'd just interrupt. He wasn't too famous, but he is the second Misfits actor I've seen this week. Perhaps they're remaking it, in Cardiff! (that would be odd, but I think the Bay has enough high-rises to accommodate).

Then on the way home I wandered my usual route, and I pressed the button to cross the road by the Castle, I was thinking about walking home through the park. Though something else struck me. Fuck it, the Museum's free I thought, and walked up that way, discovering a small deserted park with another Marquee of Bute statue, and I noticed that they're erecting (giggity) tents opposite the museum. I wonder what they're doing with those. I traversed the museum's floors for a couple of hours, taking in memories of my childhood. My dad would always take us to the Museum when he looked after us. I think he just wanted to get us to learn a thing or two about history and the make up of the world, because I don't think he ever took us to see the art upstairs. Either way, DINOSAURS!

I returned home after, but not before taking three businessmen to the train station (good deed done), and sat and wrote for many many hours, before eating with Pill and DarkHorse and watching Rango with them (That there's a belly button, being a quote from said movie). I then returned to the writing. It's all crappy, but I think I've found plot. Tag's eyebrows rose when I told him that yesterday. I hope you'd be proud. And that's where I am, and what I've been doing. This evening, since everyone has invited themselves over, Red and I have been invited to Tag and Cherry's for the evening. It'll be my first free journey there and back, because DarkHorse is driving, since moving to Cardiff I think. Who knows?

I think I miss driving. It's just like exploring, but with a car. (obvs, you moron)...

Job Searching Rain Drops...

I know some of you judge me for being lazy and unemployed but I don't know whether you know this. I've actually been looking for jobs for quite a while. Admittedly they are online jobs, but where else am I going to get a Writing Job around here?!

I don't know whether my expectations have sunk low enough to apply for the Glamorgan Gazette yet, but a job's a job right now. I don't know. I've contemplated many times right now just marching down to town and finding any sort of retail job that's going. I know it'll kill me slowly inside, but money is as money does. I don't think I'm cut out for retail. But we shall see.

Perhaps I should become a Baker instead of a Writer - I'm watching/catching up on the Great British Bake Off and I'm getting great urges to bake/make something.

I'm just a little down today, I'm sure its because of the weather.

I don't know whether I can write in this state, but I'm going to certainly try. My editor got back to me this afternoon and told me that my previous review didn't quite cut it. I thought that was me out of it, but now he's given me the opportunity to do my own style. Absolutely anything. I don't know about you, but that much freedom is a very daunting thing to have. It's a definitely Eeeky situation.

So to sum up, I'm going to try and find any old job to apply for, and I'm going to write no matter what, be it a book, an article, or manual for tractors. I really do want to become a writer, and I think at this point I've just got to leave behind all this emotion stuff, and stop feeling down for myself. Emotions just get in the way, with the weather being what it is.

Tag, hurry up, I want to watch the first video of our enterprise!

Carpe diem, until next time bloggers...

P.S. Mistress, I don't know whether that was your name or not, I'm not Sam, and Smeccles that's not you. Much love.

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

I hope this summer is one of the wettest on record, because I don't think there was a single nice day at all. Oh to be Welsh...

Anyway, sorry for being away for so long. I know you missed me, and wondered how I was doing, what I was doing, and what I plan on doing, but I was a little bit preoccupied. I can't remember what with to begin with but there were just a few busy weeks dotted one after the other until finally I stayed home one of the weeks due to an Xbox Live hacking which lost me £51 of my non-earned pounds.

I took this opportunity to descend upon my sister's room with as much grace as a Death Star and make it my own. I have an arm chair now - though there's still stuff on it so really its just an arm surface. I'll get a picture for you now. And you can see how unfinished it is.

Anyway, so I've been doing that, and I've been watching Bleach - oh I love that show (Thank You HB Sauce), and I've been meeting up with Bridgend friends who are returning to University. Oh how I wish I was going back in this Double-Dipped Recession or so the News is calling it. And I've been watching Deadwood, and I've been writing.

What's that? What you didn't know? Yes I have been writing for the lovely people over at GamePeople.co.uk and that's been fun - you can see all the reviews I have on the site at the moment here. Recently, however, I've been struggling with a Fable 3 Review - and I've written and sent it off for the 3rd time now, I think. I've rewritten it 5 or 6 times though. It was really difficult.

But anywho, getting off topic...

Unfortunately, my brilliant friends over at Zapi Comix have had to cancel their Zombie Apocalypse due to the underwhelming sale of tickets. And that is just one of the more unfortunate things that have happened in recent months. Others are equally upsetting, and the rain just tops them all off. I think the Rain has been getting everyone down a bit really. We're confined to the indoors unsure as to whether it's day or night because they look the same. It's all quite unfortunate, as that is the word of this paragraph. On Monday it all got to me a bit, starting the day with an Email from my GamePeople Editor saying could you write this again but come from a different angle? And then, on top of that it rained, and I went driving for the first time around my neighborhood, which I've got to build up my confidence from. I don't know, it's just been an alright week, not as exceptional as others, it's all rather BLAH!

Oh yes, by the way, I have started to learn how to drive. Things are going well, apart from that hiccup on Monday. I think I will start to properly write again soon. Either tonight or tomorrow. It's been too long, and my characters are getting bored existing only in my head. They want some fixed adventures.

I've been using a notebook kindly brought back from Turkey by my parents on the suggestion of HB Sauce (Thank You again), and I've been jotting ideas down for, reviews, stories, and blogs. Though that hasn't really helped me yet - I go off on long tangents like this entire blog seems to be at the moment.

And what else? Ooo, ooo, guess what I've been reading? Well you'll never believe it, but Dark Horse now has a blog - found here - and I've been reading the story she's posted on deviantArt - found here - and I've also been reading Tag's chilling tale - found both here and here.

Is that it? I think so. Anywho, watch this space and we'll see what happens.

Carpe diem, until next time bloggers...

P.S. If you're interested - and she'll hate me for this - check out this...
