Cinema Grill...

I have to say, my blogs haven't really been about very much recently. Life, or my concept of it at least, as plateau'd waiting for the extraordinary to happen - and do you know what? The extraordinary happened...

There was a cinema trip, and a night out, and tonight there's dinner and a show. Things be coming up Milhouse. But anyway, starting from the top and finishing some time tomorrow (as work begins in just 15mins) Let's say that the cinema trip was a lovely way to wind down Hump Day.

Catch a car ride with your friends, travel all the way to the Bay and hang out in a small and quiet pub, that's friendly and well stocked enough that we could have easily stayed to play cards. We drank and ate our fill (actually a lot more than our fill) to which some of us regretted it. Large Mixed Grills aren't the way to go. Tasty, but I couldn't have one every week. And yet Hot Dogs? Either way, we downed pints (bad idea) and ventured out into the brisk night air. Red discovered that she could hide, quite well inside my jacket, bag and all, and we found seats in the cinema to see Filth...

Now, I enjoyed that movie, it was funny, dark, and dramatic, a brilliant role of Mc-Cavoy's. It even showed you more, and less, than you were expecting to see all most all of the time. There was also a whole thing where all of the music was a cover of something else and some underlying themes stretching throughout. I would get all studenty on it, but I'm not a student, so fuck-it. And now we all know the definition of Furious Masturbation.

But I digress. Time has now run out, and I require to tell you all about Friday Night and then tonight also. Please stay tuned for the next installment of The Extraordinary Life of the Swingers...

Lover of the Light...

And I will wait, I will wait for you

And I will wait, I will wait for you

So break my step
And relent
You forgave and I won't forget
Know what we've seen
And him with less
Now in some way
Shake the excess

Red, welcome to the Folkier side of Rock! We'll get you hooked to Of Monsters and Men next (for the lolz)...

Did I just say that?!

I had a good day yesterday. There were some good customers, and some bad ones, but the good ones were so good that they were able to keep by mood upbeat. There were only three of them, two of which I remember. The first being an Aussie couple I got to talk Doctor Who to. And the second who chatted to me about the world, and life, and writing. Don't give up, accept rejection, and work for it. And if you die with a hundred manuscripts to your name, remember that your relatives will be able to benefit from them after you're gone, you'll be forgotten, but they'll be rich and famous because of you. A sort of happy thought I suppose. He also suggested glory printing, but I'm not too sure about that - but thanks Alun for your kind words, and I agree, I'm not too old for Fantasy!...

In other news, I feel like we haven't been hanging out a lot recently, and I know that's an entire lie. It's this current pattern of a 5-day week, where you guys all have days off during the week, that's throwing me off. And we haven't had a Sunday in a while - and I don't think I can do one until the end of the month (ARGH!). Saturday nights perhaps? Real food, a late start in the morning because it's Sunday, and just the four of us again. Either way, I'm talking bollocks, because I saw all of you last week, Red came over on the weekend, and we're going cinema'ring tonight. And like I told Red when she wrote:

'Anyway, the point is, I keep feeling horrible, then a good song comes on and I tell myself to just deal with it and be happy (for fucks sake), and repeat. Does that make me strong or weak? I'll tell you what it does make me: an overthinker. A classic fucking overthinker.'

That's how everyone feels when they're lonely, right? I know I do. I drown myself in music, I don't feed myself, because quite frankly, I cook too much food, mainly for groups of people. And don't start telling me to cook and save some. Having the same thing every day might bore me. I'm going to start doing the second stage of Spartacus at the end of the week, and I think it might kill me.

I haven't been drunk in a while. And I really want a Milkshake. Conflicting oddness, I'm sure. Banana Milkshake, with a hit of Vanilla. Oooo a Cowpots. Pill was an arse yesterday suggesting that, and all the places and things I couldn't have or get access too this week, or this month for that matter.

Either way, I'm being a moron, and I'm looking forward to seeing you guys later. And I saw something on Facebook earlier, that made me sort of happy. It's a 25-year-old's advice on being 25. And as I'm still a whole year and a bit away from that - but here it is - and I hope you like it.

It's A Kinda Magic...

Yesterday was a day-off, and thusly I utilised it in such a way that meant I cleaned the entire house before midday, did a bit of shopping, and I still managed to fit in ironing, four movies, and a meal...

Because obviously you don't want to hear about my cleaning exploits, I'll skip a bit...just one of the four movies I watched yesterday was a new one, fresh off the press, and hyped up to the max. Now You See Me is a Movie starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelsen, and Mark Gruffalo, and occasionally features Is-la Fisher, My Cocaine, More Than Freeman, and Davey-Uglier-Than-Jim-Though-Both-Kinda-Odd-Looking Franco. And as it is an American film it is fun, although it does like to spoon feed you to conclusions before the conclusions are made and spoil all the surprises.

I would have liked to see far more magic, and far less magic, if you get me. The tricks in the movie were proper real magic, and not anything anyone could possibly do, and that spoiled it a bit for me. Though I did enjoy, and noticed a trick with a coffee cup I've done on more than one occasion.

Before the movie however, we Four Horsemen ventured to the realms of Steak and Sheikh where the service was misunderstood, and the chicken came out clucking. The Shakes were good though. Red even spontaneously bled because it was too much for her, that and she bought the largest burger on the table (I helped her a little bit).

I have a desire to learn card tricks again now, not only because it would help my job, but because I think it would be very very very cool. And I sort of want hair like grownup Jesse, though saying that, the soul patch looked a little OTT.

In other news, as I went out shopping for presents, I found a map, and it got me thinking about a certain something I could dress up as that wasn't a Hobbit for once. And I think, if I put the effort in, it'll be pretty cool. Pill wants me to get goggles (Steampunk stuff), and I've been thinking about a big long dusty duster jacket. Maybe I could style my hair super-saiyan or Tai-from-Digimon and tint it organgey too. Either way, I'm planning on going as some sort of Cartographer (MAPS!). Though Red did have a good point, why not just Indiana Jones it?

I missed Luther the other evening, so I shall have to iPlayer that shit, and the tennis is still on. Life is good, though it would appear I have some daily commitments on Sunday, Wimbledon Final Day (poo).
