The Poor Student...

Believe it or not, I'm now fed up of having no money...

So - solution!!

As I don't think getting a job for the next few weeks while I'm in Carmarthen before I leave to live at home for two-months before I leave there to live in Swansea I think I'm going to try and enter a few competitions or get a writing job. Ultimately this is where I would have wanted to end up sooner rather than later but okay.

Idea!!

So if I write absolutely bloody loads. Edit it, make it all good, and send it away to the competitions - free ones of course, I can't afford it otherwise - then I should start getting some money in hopefully. What does everyone think?

Also does anyone have any competitions they've seen that I can enter?

I know of one, which I have to pay for, but I'm willing to pay for it due to the circumstances involved in the competition.

Anywho - it's just an idea - I've got to crack on with my Creative Project, my Conference Paper, and my Ffrinj Entry if I'm going to do any competition writing soon.

But that's me, until next time bloggers...

P.S. Those of you who don't blog enough have this as an incentive - Out of all the Fictional Characters in the world which ONE would you want to spend a single Afternoon with?

  1. That's an amazing idea. Even if it doesn't earn you money; trust it to improve your expression in writing. When you have an audience in mind while writing, your tone and voice changes dramatically and it shows in your writing.

And one thing that I have come to realise in life - never ever make money the aim to do something. Just find something that you enjoy doing, give it your best shot and money will follow. Work because you like doing it and because you enjoy it. Not for the money or fame or power.:)

One afternoon... hmmm.. Ellsworth Toohey from the Fountain head I suppose.

  2. Thanks Niti for, as always, filling me with confidence. I hope you're doing well, and my answer would be...

...Aurelio Zen from Michael Dibdin books. Well at the moment it will be. I'll let you know how I get on with the competitions.
